My sister, Marge Sexton, and I were very involved in local politics in Abington for many years. We were fortunate early on to meet and befriend Shirley Curry. Shirley was a brilliant politician, which often went unrecognized, because she was also an extraordinarily kind, sweet human. I always admired Shirley, and I always loved bumping into her, because she always affirmed whatever it was that I was doing. I also admired Shirley’s husband, Larry. He was the first person I ever heard in a political debate, and I was in awe of his mastery of all the facts and figures and the manner in which he conveyed them. He was a brilliant man, and he and Shirley were a wonderful pair that I often sought out whenever I saw them at political events for great conversation and fun. Shirley was a bright light in the world, and in the political world, Shirley was a safe harbor and a wise mentor. She will be missed by many people.

Jennifer, Jeff, Jackie and families,
What a wonderful person your mother was! So friendly and genuine! She was always there to greet you with her amazing smile and graceful words. Shirley made everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. She was never at a loss for words; we could talk for hours! Your mother will be greatly missed but her spirit, warmth and kindness will remain with all of us. Her memories will last forever in our hearts and minds! God bless you Shirley and rest in peace.
Love Tom and Bobbe Curry

TAKE A BOW
by Anne Oliveira
Today we grieve but I take refuge in the abundant memories of Shirley Curry, wife, dedicated mother and grandmother and great grandmother, But To me she was Mrs.Curry talented dance instructor and choreographer.
We pI remember the countless train rides I took from Lansdale to Jenkintown just to attend her ballet classes. I will never forget her choreography to Barbra Streisand, Evergreen which I performed for my junior high school.
Befitting her I recall the quote by Edgar Degas, “Art it’s not only what you see,but is what you make others see.” Mrs.Curry did this in her own unique way. How, I fondly look back at those endless recitals at Jenkintown high school.
In celebration of Shirley’s life, I recall Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s poem, “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.” Its essence calls us to Love more deeply every day.
The curtains are drawn for one last time.
Let’s applaud and celebrate her life!
Take a bow and curtesy, Shirley Curry❤️

Dear Jackie (and family) - What can I say about your Mom? There aren't enough words to describe that spunky lady! She gave new meaning to that old saying, "You can't keep a good [wo]man down!" She was our own special version of The Energizer Bunny! What I remember most about her is that she was always, always glad to see you and always had a smile for you...and a special squeeze, too. And she was always Shirley, no matter what. What a wonderful legacy she leaves for all of you to cherish. You know I fully understand your emotions right now, so allow yourself to feel them, sit with them for a while, and then let them go.(I'm sure my Mom will be happy to see her and give her a big welcoming hug.)
Now she lives in your hearts, so she is never very far away.
Much love and many prayers coming your way.
Nancy Campbell
