Obituary of Valentine Skochko

Valentine Skochko, age 85, a resident of Philadelphia, PA and previously of Quakertown, PA and Warminster, PA passed away on July 22, 2023 after a decline in health at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Skochko and the loving mother of Eric Skochko (Colleen), the late Elena Skochko, Gregory Skochko and Tina Patrick (Adam). She was also a beloved aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend. She was born in Philadelphia on January 12, 1938 and graduated from Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1956. She received her bachelor's in biology from Drexel University in 1972. She worked in the pharmaceutical industry for many years as a research scientist and in regulatory affairs. She was a loving, caring and selfless woman who worked extremely hard to provide for her family, teaching them the value of hard work, kindness to others and to never stop creating a life of happiness and beauty. She was an avid reader, loved flowers and planting, sitting outside admiring nature, hiking in her younger days and more than anything spending time with her family and her beloved grandchildren: Eric Jr., Shannon (Conner), Sean, Ryan, Ashley, Taylor, Taiyo and Kosei. She will be greatly missed but lives on every day in the lives of those she dearly loved and who loved her. As she would say "Memories will live in your heart forever". A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held in her honor in mid-September. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to Breast Cancer Research (in honor of her oldest daughter Elena who passed in 2020) or create beauty by planting flowers or a tree in Val's honor.
