Obituary of Ronald F. Schlupp, Sr.
Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ronald F. Schlupp Sr. “Pop”, age 88, a resident of Churchville, Pa passed away in the comfort of his home on September 11, 2023. He was a devoted husband to his wife Jacqueline A. (Massey) Schlupp for 67 loving years.
He is survived by his children, their spouses and his grandchildren: Skip & Ann Schlupp (Lauren & Matt Baranowski, Danielle & Matt Panto, Christopher & Erin Schlupp, Kasey & Jack) Tim & Linda Schlupp (Amanda & Kyle Boris, Brianna & Raleigh Szelag, Dominic & Kelsey), Brian & Sharon Schlupp (Kelly & Jimmy, Daniel & Skylar) and Beth & Brendan Timoney (Conor, Jaclyn and the late Kiernan) as well as his 13 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. They will miss his jokes, laughter, and pranks.
Born on May 15, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the beloved son of the late Marion B. Dulin and brother of Butch Schlupp and the late Donald Schlupp.
He grew up surrounded by friends and family in the Greater Northeast Section of Philadelphia, where he attended North Catholic High School and graduated in 1953. After high school, he continued his education at Spring Garden Trade School, where he specialized in mechanics and graduated in 1955.
As a mechanic, he worked for Cross Brothers, Horn & Hardart, Transcon Trucking before starting the family business, Schlupp’s Maintenance Company, Inc., where he worked until he retired at 63 years old. His three sons still continue to run the family business today.
Pop also proudly served with the US Army Reserves as a Sergeant for ten years.
Pop loved spending time down the shore in Sea Isle City, NJ, where he was either fishing, on the beach or pulling pranks to all he encountered. Down the shore, he was an usher and member of St. Joseph’s Church for 30 years.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church for 47 years, where he served as an usher. When he was not at church you could find him Irish dancing with Timoney School of Irish Dance, playing with his dog, Murphy, or hanging out with friends at Manhattan Bagel. Those who know Pop will remember him with a smile on his face and for his energetic and positive outlook on life.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA.
