Obituary of Marie Ronan Mark

Marie Ronan Mark, 92, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2023, at her home in Warrington, PA, She was the daughter of Julian and Violet Ronan. She grew up in Westchester, NY, with her three brothers, James and twin brothers Richard and Robert (now deceased). They were a loving family with strong roots in the church and Irish Catholic community. She was a practicing nurse. After graduating from Georgetown University School of Nursing, she became the Director of Nursing at St Vincent’s Hospital in New York, where she gave lifelong service to others. In 1977, she married Dr. George Mark Jr, a widowed cardiologist from Philadelphia. She became stepmother to George (Ann), Joseph, deceased (Nancy), and Susy (Frank) Neaylon. Marie loved becoming “Grand Marie” to grandchildren Sydney Mark, Paul (Kate) and Alex Mark, Jeannie and John Neaylon, and George Mark IV (Amy) - with great-grandchildren - Tyler and Kaitlyn Mark. She is also a beloved aunt to the Ronan family - nieces and nephews. Marie easily integrated into her new family and became a stalwart community member working many years at the Jenkintown Day Nursery, The Women’s Exchange, and The Garden Club. A former Huntingdon Valley Country Club member, she had many friends at Bridge Club and Ladies Golf. A truly beautiful woman from every aspect, she was beloved by all her family, friends, and caretakers. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, St, Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 856 Euclid Ave Warrington, PA. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will be held privately.
