Obituary of Suzanne Joos Hendrixson

Suzanne Joos Hendrixson, age 91, a resident of Normandy Farms Estates, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday evening, February 19, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late William G. Hendrixson. She was known as "the Great" by her eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Wyncote, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles E. Joos and the late Mabelle Martin Joos and sister of the late Bob Joos. Suzanne attended Bucknell University, where she majored in elementary education and met her husband, Bill, as well as many life-long friends. She and Bill started off together in Tonawanda, NY but later moved to Southern California. Suzanne taught first grade at both locations. A few years later, they made it back to the East coast and settled in Berkley Heights, NJ. There they raised their four children and later moved their family to Jenkintown, PA. Suzanne was an active friend and family matriarch. She loved playing tennis, swimming, travel, arts and crafts, spending time at the beach, throwing parties and playing games. She never missed one of her kid's school activities or sporting events. Sue and Bill loved to travel visiting over 50 countries and almost every state in the union collecting a litany of unique artifacts. They moved to Normandy Farms after retirement, where Suzanne was very active with her arts, swimming, games and friends. She is survived by her four children; Judy Lynn Hendrixson, Charles William Hendrixson, Eric Scott Hendrixson and Thomas Joos Hendrixson, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew, who all have very fond memories and plenty of stories. In her honor, she would enjoy it most if everyone took a day at the beach to enjoy and cherish their family and friends. Services will be held privately.
