Obituary of Esther D. Myers

Esther, née DeYoung, age 92, of Hatboro, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023. She was the devoted wife of the late Henry J. Myers, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1998. Born in Philadelphia, she was the loving daughter of the late William and Amelia (née Hasler) DeYoung. She graduated from Girls High – Philadelphia in 1949 and attended Moore School of Art. Esther was a devoted homemaker and mother, and was a member of Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church for over 70 years. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Henry J., Jr. and Janet Myers of Midlothian, VA, Scott D. and Eileen Myers of Wayne, PA, and Valerie J. and Bruce Thayne of Oreland, PA; by her sisters, Marie Erne of Dover, DE and Wilhelminia Hastings of Milford, DE; by her grandson, Justin Henry (Kristen) Myers; and by her great-grandson, Finley Joseph Myers. In addition to her late husband, Esther was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Buckley of Drexel Hill. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1500 Old York, Road, Abington, where relatives and friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
