To her Warrior community, Kim was an inspiration. As a mom, a nurse, a friend, and a cancer advocate, everything she did was in the service of others.
Her gentle ways brought peace and calm to many, but she was also able to crack up a room with her snarky humor. When she would talk with you in a crowded room, she always made you feel that there was no one else she would rather be chatting with.
Her daughters were her light. Talking about Jasmine and Maisie always made her smile. Although she trained hard to be a nurse, eventually getting her doctorate in Nursing, her true life's vocation was being a mom. She taught her girls to always love, never give up on your dreams, fight hard for what is important, and rest and reflect when you need to.
Kim had endless reserves of hope that she called on throughout her cancer journey. She posted frequently about Metavivor and funding for cancer research, with the hope of finding a cure for metastatic breast cancer. She organized a treehouse fundraiser, with the hope of creating a safe haven for her girls, a special place of their own that was untouched by cancer. People donated money, time, and toys to make her treehouse dream a reality.
Kim will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives she touched. We will run into her spirit again, during quiet nature walks, deep yoga breaths, good books, puppy kisses, and dragonflies at sunset.
