As one of Dave’s classmates Jenkintown High,
I shall always remember his friendly and kind smile. And it was great to see him in the photo of The Big Five - Joe, Robert, Dave, Scott and John.
Sending condolences to his family and hoping they cherish their memories of a wonderful dad and father.

My condolences to the family. Dave was a trusted and loyal friend throughout the high school years. Lots of fond memories playing football, camping, golf, fishing and participating in fire company activities: parades and softball games etc. I believe he was one of those that jumped out of the first-floor window of JHS when the fire whistle blew, but I am not saying. Dave added decency to the world and his kind will be missed.

Very sorry to hear of Dave's passing. Dave and a small group of us played a lot
of football and softball on weekends during our years at JHS. I know some
old home movie of one game at 314 stadium is around somewhere and
featured Dave in action. We were all mugging for the camera and there was
Dave not only carrying the football but also carrying one of the "injured"
players off the field. Nice to learn about his life after high school. Alan Fish

Dave was as decent and congenial a man as anyone could wish for, who devoted his entire life—from high school on— to serving others’ needs, whether as volunteer fireman, probation officer, husband, or father. All of us who knew him willl remember him with affection and gratitude.

Dave was a great friend at Jenkintown High School. Lots of good memories of The Big Five searching for things to do in a small town. Not too many can say they graduated from both JHS and Rider College with Dave Hillsley.

It was great to have worked with Dave at the Probation Department. I learned a lot from him and enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor. His keen, professional, and caring insight into cases made him an invaluable asset to the department. He was such a good person. God Bless you Dave.

It was a was a pleasure to have known and worked with Dave for nearly 30 years at juvenile probation. His dry sense of humor and hard work made life at the probation office a tolerable environment in dealing with challenging situations. Also an occasional Manhattan would assist in helping in these matters. Miss you Dave, Jim Reustle

This is one of my favorite days and memories of my Dad. During a family vacation to Maine, we hiked in Arcadia National Park with our dog, Wrigley. The hike up/down three coastal mountains took most of the day. Dad loved the scenery, adventure, and just spending the day together. Wish we could do it again!!!
