Obituary of Doris C. Schaffner

Doris Chapman Schaffner, age 94, a resident of Gwynedd Estates and formerly of Dresher, PA died on May 2, 2021. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert W. Schaffner for 45 years until his death in 2008. Doris was born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia on July 31, 1926 to the late George A. Chapman, Sr. and the late Sarah Weisser Chapman. She traveled extensively to Spain, Switzerland, and China. She loved being a legal secretary at Barnes and Dechert law firm for eight years. She will be extremely missed by her surviving siblings, Mary Thorpe, George Chapman, Jr.; niece, Diane Shirley, and nephew, Michael Thorpe and their children Mary Ruth, Bobby, Rachel, & Shannon. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 654 N. Easton Road, Glenside, where friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
