Obituary of Roberta A. Bertolet

Roberta A. "Bobbie" Bertolet, A long-time resident of Abington, PA and Lake Dunmore, VT, passed away on April 21, 2011 in her new home in Middlebury, Vermont. She was 88. She was the beloved wife of William H. "Bill" Bertolet III. Bobbie was born December 31, 1922 in Medford, MA to the late Charlotte (Adams) and Walter E. Richardson. She graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, MA and Damon Hall school in Boston and was Assistant Manager of Shawmut Bank in Boston until her marriage June 12, 1948. She was a devoted wife, mother, and beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a talented knitter and gifted gardener and interior decorator. She was an active member of Abington Presbyterian Church , the P.E. O. Sisterhood and Abington Civic Club. Bobbie loved nature and was happiest when surrounded by family, friends and pets at beautiful Lake Dunmore, VT. Bobbie is survived by her husband Bill; her five children Linda Pitkin (Bill) of Middlebury, VT; Donna Poseidon (Lee) of Shaker Heights, OH; Carol O'Connell (Steve Beard) from Berlin, MA; Beverly Moore (Chris ) of Willow Grove, PA; and Allan Bertolet (Joan) of Williston, VT; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She is also survived by her sister, Claire Richardson Bennett of Ft. Myers, FL and Martha's Vineyard, MA, and 9 nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Abington Presbyterian Church. Friends and relatives are invited to visit immediately after the service.
