The Members of the Plastic Club of Philadelphia send our sincere condolences to Sylvia's family. Sylvia was a beloved member of the Plastic Club for many years. The Club is an artist run club founded by women artists in 1897 (Men are now admitted) located in Center City not far from Sylvia's former apartment. She was forced to resign when she could no long make the steps up to the studio where she joined with other members to create her rich and colorful paintings. She participated in many of our exhibitions and events and we remember her colorful character. The motto of the Plastic Club is "All things pass. Art alone, enduring, stays to us.The bust outlasts the throne, the coin, Tiberius." Sylvia has passed, but her works remain to remind us of her spirit, her talents, and the wonderful person that she was. We will miss her.
