Obituary of Wendy Leigh Lauer

Wendy Leigh Lauer, age 51, a resident of Abington for the past 16 years and formerly of Philadelphia, died on March 21, 2019. She was the beloved wife of John Walter Lauer, IV for 16 years.

Born in Irwin, PA, Wendy was the beloved daughter of the late Frank Guiliano and Mary Louise (neé Elliott) Guiliano. In 1985, she graduated from Norwin High School and then went on to study Mathematics at The University of Pennsylvania earning her Bachelor's degree in 1989. In later years, she continued her education and studied Finance and Decision Science at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, from where she earned her Master's Degree in 1997.

She most recently was employed as a Data Architect for Freedom Mortgage Company. She previously held various positions with DLL, a global vendor finance company, in Wayne, PA, Susquehanna Bank in Lititz, PA, TD Bank in Mt. Laurel, NJ, Deloitte in Phila., PA, Arthur Andersen in Philadelphia, PA and Kwasha Lipton in Fort Lee, NJ.

Wendy was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed crafting, traveling, reading, cooking, baking and home design projects. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her wonderful daughter, Ashleigh Emma Lauer and by her sister, Lindsay Trembley of Downingtown, PA.

Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington, PA. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Christ's Lutheran Church, 700 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Oreland, PA, where relatives and friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park.
