Had the opportunity to teach in the Education Department at Eastern University with Dot. We would compare notes and experiences. Then we Joined Baptist Temple and got to know both of them. It was an honor working with and knowing them.

I just want to express my deepest sympathy to Dorothy's family. I considered her a very dear and special friend of mine. I frequently visited Dorothy and Gil when they lived in their apartment. They were always caring and concerned about me and my family. We had many wonderful talks and times of sharing, and they were there if i needed a friend to talk to. After Gil passed, I continued to visit Dorothy on numerous occasions on a pretty regular basis. After her fall, and she was bed ridden, she always wanted me to bring my ukulele when I came to visit. Then we would have our own hymn sings and she just loved it, and she just sang away with me. I continued to visit when she was in the medical center. She always told me she just wanted to die and we both knew it was not on our time. But I always prayed with her before I left, (although one time in the medical center when I asked her if I could pray with her she told me no - but I prayed anyway and she thanked me) and told her I would be back unless the Lord reached down and took her home to be with Him before I got back. What a blessing it is, that she is now home with our Lord and she is with Gil once again - she has no more suffering, no more pain. I will truly miss my dear friend but look forward to seeing her again one day when i get to heaven. I feel truly blessed that Dorothy was a special person in my life.
