Obituary of Frank Douglas Strange

Frank Douglas Strange, age 74, a resident of the Rydal Park Retirement Community since 2014 and formerly of Philadelphia and Abington died on August 5, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Bernadette C. (neé Kerrigan) Strange for 12 years.

Born in Abington, Frank was the son of the late Harold Strange and the late Grace M. Eisemann Strange. He graduated from Lower Moreland High School in 1961 and later studied at Wesley College in Dover, DE. He served with the Army National Guard for two years.

Frank began his career in Banking as a teller for First Pennsylvania Bank, now Wells Fargo Bank. He retired as Loan Officer in 1999. In 2000, Frank opened Abington Gun Sports where he sold firearms until 2013. He was a member of the National Riffle Association.

Frank was a volunteer Firefighter for more than 45 years. He enjoyed restoring antique firetrucks and model trains.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Abington for more than 45 years.

In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his loving children and their spouses: Christopher W. and Christine Strange and Jennifer L. and Mick Robinson; by his adored granddaughters: Meghan G. Strange and Hailey E. Robinson and by his brother, H. Lawrence Strange. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marion E. (neé Buechner) Strange in 2001.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road Abington, where friends will be received from 9:30 – 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Lawnview Cemetery.
