Dear Helen, Amy and Scott,
Estie was a bright in our lives and in all those she knew. Her love of life flowed into everything she did. At Hood, her sense of humor kept us all sane. She was so much fun to be with.
She loved her family, and friends and her work and always seemed to know where she wanted to be in life. We pray that the Lord will bring you and your families comfort and strength.
Linda James Stewart (Hood '66)

Esther was quite accomplished but also possessed a wonderful mix of humor and irreverence. She always found a way to surprise with an unexpected comment or observation and she liked to laugh when work got too stressful. My heartfelt condolences to her family – she will be missed.

Scott, Amy and Helen,
Your mom and sister was an important member of our family as are all of you. My prayers are with you to heal your sorrow.
When I advocate for women I always say we need to do more than mentor - we need to sponsor more women to help them find their voices in the world. Esther gave me my first big break with delivering a program at Thomas Edison. This is trust and sponsorship magnified.
I hope I can be there for you and your family in her memory. She has left a legacy that has touched more people than any of us will probably know.

Dearest Helen and Amy,
I can't tell you how shocked I was to hear the news from Aaron about Esther, my dear friend and colleague from our days together in Madison. You both are in my thoughts and prayers. Reading the obituary, I am amazed to see that your Uncle Scott, whom I remember well, lives in Lancaster. I go to Lancaster all the time, because it's my (second=new) wife's hometown. I'll look him up. Helen, I still remember singing for your wedding.
You're probably reeling in shock now. May time do what it usually does. My very best wishes to you both.
Steven
