FLORENCE ROSELLA RAUCH, age 84 a resident of Brookside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Roslyn, PA and formerly of Abington, PA and Neshaminy Falls in North Wales, PA died on December 31, 2014. She was the devoted wife of the late Richard G. Rauch for 35 years until his death in 1997.
Born in Abington PA, Florence was the daughter of the late Leroy Mundy Sr. and the late Florence R. Simonson Mundy. She graduated from Abington High School in 1948 and later earned her Real Estate Brokers License and was with Pine Realty in Willow Grove. Florence retired in 2000 after 60 years of service in the restaurant industry. During her long career as a hostess and restaurant supervisor, she had worked for The Highland Inn, which became Alexander's Restaurant and is now the Kitchen Bar Restaurant in Abington.
Florence was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Glenside for more than 45 years, where she was a member of the Women's Group, volunteered at their Thrift Shop and graciously cooked for the Annual Women's Holiday Dinner for many years.
Florence was a dedicated wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She found great joy in helping to raise her granddaughters; Courtney and Katelyn and enjoyed driving them to school, the dance studio, tennis and many other activities. In her younger years, Florence played tennis and continued into her older years and only stopped whey she physically could not play any longer. Other hobbies she enjoyed were knitting, crocheting and watching old movies.
She is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Robert L. and Joan Rauch of Warrington, PA, Richard K. and Kristin Rauch of Havertown, PA and Barbara A. Papale of Horsham, PA; by her sister, Genevieve Cram of North Wales, PA and by eight dear grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Florence Rauch and by her brother, Leroy Mundy, Jr.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 654 N. Easton Road, Glenside, PA 19038 where relatives and friends will be received from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Hatboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Peter's Episcopal Church or to Brookside Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, 2630 Woodland Road, Roslyn, PA 19001.
