Helen Harrer Morris, age 64, of Telford, PA and formerly of Maple Glen, PA beloved wife, amazing mother and grandmother, passed away after a long battle with illness Monday evening, November 17, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Abington, PA, Helen was the daughter of the late Fred G. Harrer and the late Viola Lang Hoag. She was raised and grew up in Jenkintown, Ocean City, NJ and Abington, attending Abington Friends through 4th grade then Highland, Abington Jr. and graduated from Abington High School. Her working career was in the medical field. She retired from Surgical Care Specialist, where she was their practice manager. Helen was a charter member of the local PAHCOM chapter (Professional Association of Health Care Office Management) and had served as their President.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Peter H. Morris; by her loving children and their spouses; Jennifer and Matthew Mahood of Glenside and Jon and Christine Morris of Upper Gwynedd; by her adoring grandchildren: Sam, Evan, Aimee and Adam; by her cousin, Lee Cleeland and by her nieces: Kelly Palumbo and Bonnie Herring. She was preceded in death by her sons; Michael Morris and Jason Morris and by her sister, Connie Lewis.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2014, Abington Presbyterian Church, 1082 Old York Road (at Susquehanna Road), Abington, where relatives and friends will be received from 9:00 until the time of the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Canine Companions for Independence, P.O. Box 446, Santa Rosa, CA 95402-0446 ( www.cci.org) an organization dear to Helen as she helped to raise three service puppies over the past 13-years.
