Rose A. Firth, a Bucks County Antique & Collectible dealer passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence August 14, 2010. She was 88. Born in Philadelphia in 1921, she was the eldest daughter of the late Edwin E. and Rose T. Smith. Upon graduation from Frankford High School, she attended Piece School of Business. She served during World War II on the Draft Board. In 1947, Rose wed William R. Firth, a U.S. Navy Dentist, and together raised their family in Melrose Park, PA. The Navy Wives' Club, the Sedgeley Club and Lulu Country Club all enjoyed Rose's help and spirited participation. From 1986 until her date of death, Rose managed and worked in a business she founded with her husband of 59 years, A Touch of Britain, located in Peddler's Village, PA. Specializing in Royal Doulton and all things English, she was devoted to her collectors, and was admired and well-respected by everyone whose life she touched. Rose is survived by her three sons, Dr. William R. Firth, Jr. of Collegeville, Pa., Edwin G. Firth of Wappinger Falls, NY, and Robert J. Firth, of Jenkintown, Pa., their wives, five grandchildren, and a niece and nephew. They celebrate her life as a loving mother, devoted wife, and beloved grandmother and invite friends to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, August 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Baron Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001. Friends may call informally at the funeral home the same morning between 9 - 11 a.m. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Grace Presbyterian Church, 444 Old York Road, Jenkintown, PA. 19046.
