JAMES LAWRENCE SHEERAN, age 69, a resident of Roslyn for the past 37-years died at his home on July 31, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Jean Hornsby Sheeran for 48-years. He was born in Philadelphia on August 10, 1940 to the late James J. Sheeran and the late Grace Bielier Sheeran. He graduated from North Catholic High School. For more than 45-years, Mr. Sheeran worked for Acme Markets from where he retired as Produce Manager. Mr. Sheeran was a devoted husband, father and "Pop Pop" who adored his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and watching them play sports. He had a gift for making those that he came in contact with smile and laugh. He was affectionately known as the "Mayor of Roslyn" and will be sadly missed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Barbara and her husband William Matthews of Glenside; son, James Sheeran of Horsham and son, Jeffrey and his wife Lisa Sheeran of Glenside; by his grandsons; Zachary Matthews, Samuel Matthews and Jacob Matthews and by two brothers and four sisters. Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 7:00 - 9:00 Pm, Baron Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington and on Thursday, August 5, 2010 from 9:00 -10:00 am , St. John of the Cross Church, 2741 Woodland Road, Roslyn, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Heart Association, 1617 JFK Blvd., Suite 700, Phila., PA 19103 ( www.americanheart.org)
