Obituary of Mark Lapidus

MARK LAPIDUS, age 53, a resident of Abington, died on July 4, 2012. He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last year. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Stanley and MaryAnn Lapidus. Mark graduated from Abington High School in 1976 and later earned his degree in Liberal Arts from Curry College in Milton, Mass. He had worked for Bubby's Auto Detailing in Abington for the past 30 years. Mark enjoyed cooking and compiled a vast and eclectic collection of cook books. He enjoyed oil painting and developed a unique personal style which melded impressionism with the boldness of color and imagery exemplified in Caribbean genres. An avid reader, Mark was well versed in subjects ranging from political philosophy to current fiction. He loved the Phillies. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law; Robin and Diane Lapidus and their children; Lennon Pukowsky and Chloe Lapidus and by his sister and brother-in-law; Susan and Joel Spencer and their sons Jake Spencer and Cole Spencer. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, July 16, 2012, Baron Rowland Funeral Home, 1059 Old York Road, Abington, where friends will be received from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Abington Hospice at Warminster, 225 Newtown Road, Warminster, PA 18974.
