If kindness were personified, it would have been Don. I always cherished my time with him, whether at different parties hosted at his home or treading in his swimming pool in the summertime. He was always quick to laugh and to ask how I was doing, never shying from making conversation and offering the best hugs. I will deeply miss him and his lovely presence—it won’t be the same without him!

I met Don over 45 years ago. We were introduced by my brother in law, Larry Matteo when we would get together for lunch. First it was at the Copper Door in Abington (now Roman Delight), then at Donovan's. In all these years of friendship, Don exhibited his goodness and love of family. I am proud to call him my friend. I can fondly recall: - working with Don and other volunteers to prepare the June Fete grounds at Barn Opening -meeting up with him and his good friend John Bingley for our "Thursday Boys Night Out" -watching a game on Saturday afternoon at the Scoreboard -just lounging around his pool having a pleasant conversation -Don always knowing the coming and goings of the local real estate market -and the past six or seven years getting together for lunch three or four times a year with Don and Larry to stay in touch So,as with many facets in life we have come full circle. Rest in peace my friend until we meet again one day in the future. Bob Miller

Don you will be missed by many. I will cherish our friendship of memories in the past 25 years. Your sense of humor will be so missed. I am so happy that I got to honor our commitment to each other to care for you in the past weeks with you. Caring for you is a memory that will never be forgotten. Ed, Dolly and I will miss spending our time with you. We will keep Stephen and the family in our prayers and thoughts. We will meet you again someday. Loved you very much.

So sad… we were all part of the lunchtime group known as the Donovan’s “CHEERS GROUP”! I miss those days and I will miss Don, a great friend and great guy & a great dad who ALWAYS talked about his children with great pride and love. Miss you big guy!
