Obituary of Nancy Jolly Lassen

Nancy Jolly Lassen, a resident of Abington, PA for the past 47 years, and formerly of Roslyn, PA for 18 years, passed away on November 12, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was 86. Nancy was the devoted wife for 59 years to the late Richard H. Lassen. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Linda Lassen of Glenside, PA, Cheryl Ann Lassen (Mary Beth Chester) of Cranberry Township, PA, and Scott Lassen of Downingtown, PA, her three grandchildren, Kate, Natalie and Caroline and by her nephews and nieces. Nancy is also survived by her sister-in-law, Delphiine Zimmel of Hatboro, PA and sister-in-law, Shirl Lassen of Harleysville, PA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Jolly Reinhardt, father, John Reinhardt, brother-in-law, Robert Lassen, brother-in-law, Howard Theodore Lassen, sister-in-law, Etta Lassen, brother-in-law, Marvin Zimmel, and son-in-law, Rick Voss. Born August 19, 1938 in Philadelphia and growing up in the outskirts, Nancy graduated from The Stephens School in 1956. She attended Harcum Junior College, receiving her Associate Degree in Secretarial Science in 1959. After raising her 3 children, Nancy worked for Abington School District, first as an outdoor aid and then as the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Principal of Discipline at North Campus for over 25 years. She was highly respected by her colleagues and students. Nancy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, singing, biking, snowmobiling and working in her seven gardens. You would often see her jogging around Abington High School and through the neighborhood while her husband rode his bike next to her. Nancy continued to run even into her seventies, entering races and on several occasions she would win her age bracket. Nancy also enjoyed spending quality time vacationing with her husband at their cabin in Potter County and at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Helweg & Rowland Funeral Home, 1500 Old York Road, Abington, PA, where relatives and friends will be received from 10:00am until the time of service. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Montgomery County SPCA.
