Obituary of Doris Leona Zetterberg

Doris Leona Zetterberg of Willow Grove passed away peacefully Thursday, January 21, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was 90. She was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Philadelphia, to the late Leon and Lucetta Becker. Doris graduated from Olney High and earned an associate degree from Temple University. She met the love of her life, Nelson, and was married in March of 1955. In her earlier years, Doris enjoyed playing tennis, traveling, and boating with Nelson. She was a lifelong animal lover and supported many charities. While she loved all animals, her lab mix, Tara, always held a special place in her heart. Doris is survived by her husband of 60 years, Nelson; her two sons, Jeff and Glenn, and her daughter-in-law, Donna. She also is survived by her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Nicole, Tim, Matt, and their spouses, Mat and Nikki; many nieces and nephews; and her great-grand doggie, Baron. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Becker, and sister, Virginia Maslin. Relatives and friends are invited to her life celebration at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Grace Presbyterian Church, in Jenkintown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the ASPCA or any animal rescue organization.
